DESCRIPTION:Hang up your cape for a half-day conference filled with opportunities for connection\, education\, inspiration and empowerment. \n\n \n\nThe Superwoman Conference is a half-day event that aims to inspire discussion about the roadmap for success in Manitoba and beyond. We want to bring together ambitious women and men to foster an environment of connection\, education and empowerment. The event will feature an active morning session\, keynote speakers\, a lively networking break and a powerful panelist session\, each representing different industries\, backgrounds and experiences.\n\n\n\nThis years conference's theme is "Find Your A-Force" (a clever reference to the all-female sub group of Marvel's The Avengers). We will focus of the power of finding your team\, your champions and your support network in life and in business.\n\n \nAbout your MC:\n\n\n\nTanya LaBuick | LaBuick & Co. | Guardian Fencing | CW2 Construction (Current Vice President of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce)\n\nTanya LaBuick recently became an equal partner in CW2 Construction & Design Ltd. and Guardian Fencing Ltd. where she fulfills the role of Chief Operating Officer. She continues to run her own consulting firm\; LaBuick & Co. built upon her 25 years' experience in project management and she is a globally certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Tanya has a successful career history working with high profile clients on large-scale mega-events\, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games\, NFL Super Bowl's\, HSBC World Rugby Sevens (Vancouver) and the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015. Tanya has also worked with clients including\; Crane Steel\, Christie's Office Plus\, World Rugby\, and the Academy of Country Music.\n\nTanya is trained in leadership\, executive facilitation\, change management\, lean six-sigma\, and negotiation. She has been appointed to the Canadian Olympic Committee as an Olympic Supporter is an elected Executive Director with the Brandon Chamber of Commerce Board\, the Chair of the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation Board\, a Director on the Keystone Board\, and is a member of Leading Women for Shared Parenting.\n\n\n\nAbout your Speakers:\n\n \n\n\n\nMorning Keynote:\n\nJanet McMahon | President & CEO\, Sport Manitoba\n\nJanet McMahon has worked in sport administration for over 35 years\, leading a variety of sport\, funding\, athlete\, and coach development programs. Currently\, she is the President and CEO at Sport Manitoba. In this role\, McMahon leads the management team and oversee Sport Manitoba's planning\, programming\, and funding for the development of amateur sport in the province.\n\nMcMahon grew up in Brandon before she arrived in the Manitoba capital to play basketball for the University of Winnipeg Wesmen from 1979-83. After her days on the hardwood\, she began to work for the Manitoba Games in the Westman region. Her first sport role began with the Westman Sport Association out of Brandon as the Manitoba Games Coordinator. In addition to attending many Multisport Games she has also worked for the Host Societies of the 1999 Pan Am Games and the 2017 Canada Summer Games held in Winnipeg. McMahon believes that building quality sport programs improves the sporting experience of all Manitobans and inspires us all to stay active for life.\n\n \n\n \n\nPanel Discussion Seats:\n\n \n\n\n\nAndrea Epp | Lawyer & Owner\, Epp Law Office\n\nRaised in Carberry\, Andrea has lived in Manitoba her entire life. Previously working within the banking industry and as a Legal Assistant\, Andrea attended to completing Business Administration courses through Assiniboine Community College and later began her undergrad degree through Brandon University. Thereafter\, she attended and graduated from the University of Manitoba with her Law Degree in 2008. Andrea completed her Articles in Brandon\, received her Call to the Bar in 2009 and has practiced in Brandon and Carberry ever since.\n\nWhile Andrea has past litigation experience (criminal defense and family law)\, Andrea's practice is presently focused on solicitor matters. Andrea enjoys the small-town spirit that exists in Brandon and prides herself on giving her clients a positive experience\, ensuring that they are adequately informed in every aspect of their matter. Andrea can often be found volunteering within Brandon at various events and is currently a Board Member of Brandon Crime Stoppers and Brandon Area Community Foundation.\n\n \n\n\n\nSamantha Falloon | Managing Partner\, MyPhone Telus \n\nSamantha Falloon is the Managing Partner with Myphone.ca. Myphone is a telecommunication company which operates 3 TELUS locations in Brandon and Virden as well an IT Division called Juggernaut Computers.\n\nSamantha graduated with her B.Comm from University of Manitoba in 2009 before moving home to join the family business. She worked through a variety of roles in the organization and now focuses on the TELUS operations.\n\nCommitted to her community\, Samantha has enjoyed being involved with a variety of organizations including the YWCA\, MS Society\, Heart & Stroke and sitting on the Board of Directors with the United Way of Brandon & District.\n\nWife to Tim and mother to Stella and Ava\, Samantha is passionate about her community and loves raising her family in her home town of Brandon.\n\n \n\n \n\n\n\nAida Harrison | Owner\, Aida's Catering & The Backyard on Aberdeen\n\nAida Harrison\, owner of Aida's Catering\, immigrated from Bethlehem\, Palestine to Brandon with her family in 1999. Shortly after\, she began taking culinary courses at ACC and then worked for several years at Rideau Park Personal Care Home (RPPCH). During her years at RPPCH she learned about caring for residents' specialized diets\, and also became more involved in efforts to respond to the needs of residents and healthcare workers. Aida served as a volunteer on the BRHA Wellness and Social Committees\, along with the RPPCH Ethics Committee.\n\nLater on\, she taught evening cooking classes at Assiniboine Community College (ACC)\, where she thoroughly enjoyed engaging more closely with the community and where the idea of owning her own restaurant or catering business was first proposed to her.\n\nIn August 2015\, she opened Aida's Catering and since then she has been fortunate to see her business grow and to become more involved in Brandon's small business community. Aida is so thankful to the Brandon community for being so supportive of her business and helping her get to where she is today.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*Also\, please note that things change!
