DESCRIPTION:The Rural Manitoba Philanthropy Network presents a half-day seminar featuring Kristine Betker presenting "Creating a Culture of Philanthropy: Guiding Boards of Directors to Engage in the Fundraising Process"\; a networking break\; and then Bob Cooney presenting "Using Social Media in the Charitable Sector".\n\n\n\nThe first session will empower Fundraisers\, Directors of Development and Executive Directors to have frank\, candid conversations with their Boards of Directors about their crucial role in the fundraising process. Looking at prospects versus suspects\; qualifying prospects\; building a case for support\; and supporting a culture of philanthropy to help charities grow their contributed revenue.  The second session will focus on how any organization with modest means can build their social media profile. Attendees will look at how to improve engagement on social media to gain likes\, shares\, friends   and\, in the charity world   money.  Come prepared to work on your pages in real time. \n\n\n\nThe Rural Manitoba Philanthropy Network (RMPN) is a program introduced by the Assiniboine College Foundation. This community of practice has over 70 people in the network from Brandon and rural Manitoba and comprises of professional development sessions for charity professionals\, board members\, volunteers and donors   anyone connected to the philanthropic sector or to philanthropy.
