What began as a simple women’s shelter has grown into a large, multi-program organization well equipped to meet people’s physical, intellectual and emotional needs. Through the Food Bank, which is Manitoba’s 2nd largest, to the Safe & Warm homeless shelter, literacy programs, and second stage housing for women and children, thousands of people are assisted every month.
 
Challenges, which are in fact opportunities, include the diverse needs of clients accessing services. The number of newcomers to western Manitoba, students, and families seeking services continues to rise. Samaritan House Ministries continues to explore innovative partnerships to ensure the needs are met in the community.
 
The Board of Directors and Executive Leadership at Samaritan House believes that the organization can be successful by pursuing excellence in service to others. By being dynamic, flexible and responsive to the needs of the community, Samaritan House Ministries anticipates providing service in Western Canada for decades to come.
