About the Event & Speaker:

Join us during Small Business Week to listen in as keynote speaker, Kari Hammersley, owner of Muse Bridal, share her trials and tribulations of taking on a new business!

"My name is Kari Hammersley.  I am the owner of Muse Bridal Studio here in Brandon. As a sole proprietor I am responsible for the running of the store daily as well as all the logistical needs of the business. There are many dynamics to the bridal industry that demand me to perform a multitude of tasks as well as managing a staff of 4.

Having spent 25 years in Health care prior to retirement, I have gained a comprehensive skill set that has equipped me for the business world and being a business owner. Its always fascinating to learn a new skill set and then be able to utilize what you already have in your arsenal to a new direction.

Each customer is of value and deserves to be treated with respect and authenticity. I try to establish a relationship with every customer and build a healthy and mutual respect with as many of them as I can. I genuinely believe that if you treat people well, they will respond positively to that and the business will thrive and grow, which is exactly what I have seen since taking it over 3 years ago.

When I’m not busy with the business I like to spend time with my family and their partners. This generally involves family suppers, golf and various activities.  I am also a keen artist and enjoy painting in mixed mediums. I am a homebody and quite enjoy being lazy and sipping a good red wine."
