Position Overview:
We place a high priority on student success and are dedicated to building an environment that creates and supports a high level of student engagement. We are committed to contributing to First Nation, Metis and Inuit prosperity by having the highest college participation rate in the province. Assiniboine is currently looking to hire a Career Success Coach for the Digital Ag Fundamentals program. The Career Success Coach will work full-time with exception of 1-2 in-person sessions. This position will be assisting students in finding employment opportunities and will build relationships with future employers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage directly with students as they adapt to classroom education by balancing priorities
- Help students identify skills for success by identifying their interests and abilities
- Help students identify educational requirements in their courses and develop training plans
- Work with the Instructor to ensure student success and connect them with college supports
- Develop employment and career plans with students as they complete their program and graduate
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma in an education-related field is preferred
- Experience working with adults in an educational setting is preferred
- Knowledge of both employability and essential skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with instructional staff, industry partners and training organizations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with students in developing innovative solutions and plans.
- Demonstrated patience and non-judgmental listening skills
