Position Overview:
This position is responsible for washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, while ensuring all items meet sanitation standards. It involves managing the dishwashing area, assisting with general kitchen clean-up, and supporting the culinary team to keep operations running smoothly.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment using dishwashers and hand-washing techniques to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Organize and manage the dishwashing area, including sorting and loading items into the dishwasher, and ensuring proper operation and maintenance of dishwashing machines.
  • Follow all sanitation guidelines and procedures to ensure dishes and utensils are sanitized and safe for use.
  • Properly store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas to prevent contamination and facilitate easy access for kitchen staff.
  • Help with general kitchen clean-up tasks, including sweeping, mopping floors, and cleaning kitchen surfaces as needed.
  • Provide support to the culinary team by ensuring a steady supply of clean dishes and utensils, and assisting with any special requests or tasks as directed.
  • Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
 
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 pounds), and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation of dishes and kitchen equipment.
  • Basic communication skills to understand and follow instructions from supervisors and coordinate with team members.
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks as required.
