osition Overview

We are looking for an in-store Computer Technician to join our team. This role is a mix of hands-on technical work, customer service, and retail sales. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing customer computers, providing virus and malware removal, offering remote support, and assisting customers in-store with technology purchases and service needs.

This is a customer-facing role suited for someone who is technically capable, organized, and comfortable explaining technology in plain language.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Repairs

  • Diagnose and repair desktops and laptops (hardware and software)

  • Perform virus, malware, and spyware removal

  • Operating system installs and upgrades on Windows and Mac OS

  • Data backup, recovery, and migration

  • Tune-ups and performance troubleshooting

  • Configure new computers and custom-built PCs

  • Provide remote support to customers via secure remote access tools

Customer Service

  • Check customers in and out at the service counter

  • Clearly explain issues, solutions, and pricing to customers

  • Provide basic technology advice in a non-technical, friendly way

  • Follow up on repair status when needed

  • Maintain accurate service notes and documentation

Retail Sales

  • Sell laptops, desktops, custom PCs, and towers

  • Recommend accessories such as monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, and networking equipment

  • Upsell relevant services such as setup, data transfer, protection, and maintenance

  • Process sales transactions and service invoices

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with virus and malware removal

  • Retail or sales experience
  • Comfortable troubleshooting software and hardware issues independently

  • Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi, routers, printers)

  • Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical customers

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional

  • Experience building or configuring custom PCs
