Member Relations Coordinator

The Brandon Chamber of Commerce is an independent, membership-funded, non-profit organization dedicated to representing the local business community in Brandon, Manitoba. With over 600 businesses from various sectors, we’ve been the voice of local businesses since 1883, working to foster a progressive and vibrant business environment. Our mission is to encourage growth in the Brandon and surrounding region by cultivating a dynamic business climate that supports both existing businesses and attracts new ones. 
 
The Role
As the Member Relations Coordinator, you will play a key role in strengthening our connections with current members and attracting new businesses to join our vibrant community. You will be the primary point of contact for all member-related activities and initiatives, including onboarding, engagement, and retention. This role requires an individual with a passion for community development, an entrepreneurial mindset, and excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with our members.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the Chamber’s membership base by proactively engaging new and existing members.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve member retention and satisfaction.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of member services, benefits, and resources, ensuring they meet member needs and add value.
  • Coordinate member events, networking opportunities, and educational programs to foster engagement, learning and professional growth.
  • Monitor membership trends, track key performance indicators, and report on membership goals.
  • Lead outreach initiatives and campaigns to attract new members and strengthen the Chamber’s presence in the community.
  • Provide committee organization and support to ensure effective committee operations and engagement.
  • Drive advertising services by developing and managing business solutions, sponsorships, and advertising opportunities for members.
  • Write compelling content including articles, member features for newsletters, and media releases to enhance communication, visibility and engagement
  • Be highly detail-oriented in managing the sales process and CRM database ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely execution.
  • Work closely with other team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment with the Chamber’s mission and strategic objectives.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in membership relations, sales, or business development.
  • Strong understanding of the local business community and the unique challenges and opportunities faced by members.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data-driven decision making.
  • Highly developed communication skills, strong organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for community development and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on local businesses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher), social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), Constant Contact 
  • Must have/maintain a dependable vehicle with proof of license and insurance
