Westman Immigrant Services (WIS) is a non-profit registered charity organization serving newcomers in the Western Manitoba region. With a vision of creating a generational impact for clients, our staff and our community. We liaise with community groups and organizations to work towards building capacity in our community for improving services to immigrants and refugees.
 
Overview:
We are currently hiring for a Training Facilitator. Working from the WIS offices in Brandon, a Training Facilitator is responsible for ensuring quality delivery of training and programming.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and deliver training and programming
  • Engage in the assessment process to encourage reflection, better understand progress and improve determination towards achieving programming goals
  • Assist with program administration activities including scheduling, planning, promotion, participant outreach, registration, delivery, check-in, follow-up and analyzing outcomes
  • Support the design and maintenance of resources to ensure programming continuance
  • Stay informed of current resources, trends, changes and services gaps in the community
  • Develop partnerships with stakeholders including community networks and employers to improve engagement, feedback, participation and promotion of programming
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided, statistics, and prepare reports as required
  • Create an inspiring, engaging and collaborative atmosphere within teams and other WIS  departments to achieve collective goals and deliver quality service to clients
  • Provide management with operational support as required
 
Skill, Ability and Licensing Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, plan and facilitate programming
  • Knowledge of programming material including current state, navigation and challenges
  • Experience with tools i.e. MS Office, communication and database management etc.
  • Strong proficiency and ability to communicate in English
  • Provide a clear Criminal Record, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Driver Abstract; where required
  • Possess a valid Manitoba Driver's Licence and access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with management, employees, and community stakeholders in a diverse environment
