Salary: $65,184 to $102,262 annually ($34.58 to $54.25 hourly)
(Educational Supplement: Masters $1.60/hour; PhD $3.19/hour)

As an Instructor in our Early Childhood Education Workplace Mentorship program, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of ECE education. Reporting to the Chairperson or Program Coordinator, you will develop and deliver curricula, evaluate student performance, and engage in various administrative functions. You will also support college promotion, student recruitment, student placement, and industry liaison.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct students via synchronous, daytime, online video sessions and provide academic assistance.
  • Develop and modify course objectives, course outlines, curricula and evaluation procedures.
  • Maintain all course-related records including evaluations and attendance and submit required information.
  • Prepare and organize course materials and learning resources.
  • Share passion and knowledge of the ECE profession with students.
  • Apply enthusiasm to classroom management, student evaluation, academic advising and related administrative duties.
 
Qualifications:
  • Relevant post-secondary ECE education (ECE III preferred) and significant industry experience that enables you to effectively provide instruction in one or more of the following areas: child development, children’s special needs, communicating with children with varying disabilities, and vulnerable children and/or families, nutritional meal planning and practicum supervision. 
  • Experience working with newcomer and/or EAL (English as an Additional Language) individuals considered an asset.
  • Experience teaching in an adult environment is highly desirable
  • Experience teaching (theory, lab, and clinical) and experience using Moodle an asset.
  • Solid understanding of program and curriculum development, Indigenization and decolonization of curriculum, classroom instruction, assessment and evaluation, student advising and group facilitation.
